My lesson plans are heavily infused with technology-especially the use of interactive white boards. I have my own projector and Mimio Bar (a device that enables any magnetic white board to become an interactive "smart board"). Below are a few selections from lessons that utilized this technology.
Below is a kindergarden lesson that explores rhythmic improvisation as well as call and response. Students discuss the sights and sounds of picnic going then brainstorm a list of items they could bring. We learn the original lyrics to "Going on a Picnic" then students choose which items they would like to bring and insert these items in the appropriate portions of the song.

This kindergarden class learned a song for Groundhog's Day, recorded it using GarageBand and after listening to their performance (a few times, the first time they usually giggle through it) we discuss what they did well and what they could improve on. Here is a second sample of using technology to allow 3rd grade students to self-assess their performance. After learning about melodic direction and interval types, the students learned two verses from "Over the River and Through the Woods". Below is a 4th grade lesson for Martin Luther King Day. Students read about the Civil Rights Act, discuss how music was a part of this movement, and review strong beat skills while playing hand bells to "We Shall Not Be Moved". This particular page displays the lyrics, musical notation, a color coded part for the hand bells as well as a widget for the audio accompaniment.

Below is a lesson for 6th grade as part of a unit on Medieval music. Students explored the various instruments that existed in this time period, view pictures and hear audio clips of replica instruments being played. Afterward they are divided into teams and play "Medieval Instrument Memory".

Every lesson students learn about a different composer for their "Composer of the Week". Students learn about the composers life, style and cultural background as well as experience music from a variety of different genres.
